एफयूपी FUP का Full Form : Fair Usage Policy (उचित उपयोग नीति) होता है. FAU उचित उपयोग नीति एक कंप्यूटर नेटवर्क वेबसाइट, या सेवा के स्वामी, निर्माता या व्यवस्थापक द्वारा लागू नियमों का एक समूह है। यह उन तरीकों को प्रतिबंधित करता है जिनमें नेटवर्क, वेबसाइट या सिस्टम का उपयोग किया जा सकता है और दिशानिर्देश निर्धारित करता है कि इसका उपयोग कैसे किया जाना चाहिए। FUP दस्तावेज़ निगमों, व्यवसायों, विश्वविद्यालयों, स्कूलों, इंटरनेट सेवा प्रदाताओं (ISP) और वेबसाइट मालिकों के लिए लिखे जाते हैं, अक्सर कानूनी कार्रवाई की संभावना को कम करने के लिए जो उपयोगकर्ता द्वारा की जा सकती है।

Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is a term used by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to define the bandwidth cap for unlimited Internet plans offered by the respective broadband service providers. Fair Usage Policy is a policy used by broadband providers internationally to ensure that each subscriber uses mobile data at a reasonable speed. When the subscriber(s) use large amounts of mobile data, other users on the same network may be adversely affected.
In simple words FUP means that even though you can subscribe for unlimited broadband plan say 4 Mbps per month for example unlimited, and if your usage crosses some limit then to maintain the quality of service for all. Your internet speed will decrease for the rest of the month. FUP is designed to ensure that network resources are available to everyone without significant fluctuations in speed. Earlier broadband companies used to advertise unlimited download plans, which is still mostly the case. TRAI had in 2012 issued instructions to these broadband service providers to provide clear information to the public at large in their advertisements rather than just 'unlimited' plans.
